Proposals:

Two Category II proposals were referred to the Council for TRIPS by the Chair of the General Council by means of a letter, dated 20 May 2003. The first one is a proposal by the LDCs concerning their transition period under Article 66.1 of the TRIPS Agreement. The second one is a proposal by the African Group, the first part of which concerns the extension of transition periods under Article 65.4 of the TRIPS Agreement, and the second part exclusive marketing rights under Article 70.9 of the TRIPS Agreement. The texts of these proposals are reproduced in Annex I to this report.
